I read a quote by Gandi this morning; “In the attitude of silence the soul finds the path in a clearer light and what is elusive and deceptive resolves itself into crystal clearness…”
I’ve wanted clarity or to hear a clear loud voice regarding a couple of changing
circumstances. This desire prompted me to make some lifestyle changes. To detoxify
both my body and mind so I could make choices through a clear filter instead of one that is muddled in gunk. Of course, this process is easier said than done as old habits are replaced with new can initially be brutally revealing and uncomfortable. What was the answer… Go into the silence.
I’m an extrovert who needs and enjoys the company of others yet a great part of my
profession is to write…which I need to do in silence. I become lost in space, often
regaining awareness of the time space continuum some 2-3 hours later, yet it feels as though no time has passed at all.
Ahh…balance. Just as in Ecclesiastes: To everything turn, turn, turn. There is a season turn, turn, turn. And a time for every purpose under heaven. There is also a time to sit in silence, connect and create. A time to get out of the house and interact with the human race. A time to laugh, play and be light hearted. A time to guard your mind against the daily barrage of negative news streaming 24/7. Sitting in silence somehow balances the human condition with the sublime. When this is done on a consistent basis you become a place holder for light and peace by your mere presence. Synchronicities occur taking you from hand to hand with new and exciting opportunities.
We were born to experience, learn and grow in wisdom. This wisdom becomes part of your bones in later life when you’ve learned to let go and let God; when you’ve learned to serve within your sphere of influence to help the less fortunate. All done and sealed in the silence so as you rub shoulders with your fellow wo(man) you don’t become depleted, depressed or despondent. Work, play, laugh, dance, sing, love, give, pray, be blessed, be a blessing. Thank you Gandi for reaching across time and space to deliver just the right message at just the right time.
